HEAD OF OPERATIONS

At Metrea Mission Data (MMD) we are experts in missionizing and disseminating data; combining vast amounts of disparate data sets to provide valuable insights and analysis for our customers. Our deep-rooted knowledge of Tactical Data Links and Secure Networking allows us to serve these insights to where they will have the biggest impact. We’ve set ourselves ambitious growth targets for the coming years and as we re-configure to best prepare ourselves for doing so we are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Operations to oversee the day-to-day running of the cross-functional operations of the company, ensuring that the wider team has everything that they need to succeed.


The Head of Operations will be responsible for:

  • Owning and maintaining operational policies and procedures that focus on the provision of efficient and effective operations across the company.
  • Overseeing MMD’s cross-functional teams and ensuring they have everything they need to support the running of the program, project and product teams.
  • Liaising with wider Metrea to manage the utilization and access to shared services.
  • Tracking and analyzing the company’s Objectives and Key Requirements (OKRs) to ensure that they are achieved
  • Taking ownership for the collation and dissemination of the reporting required into Metrea Management
  • Collating and reporting risks and opportunities from within the business and supporting the development of management plans for them.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Communicating with senior management on a regular basis to provide updates on operational performance and progress towards goals.
  • Supporting the Executive Team in the generation of annual business and financial planning including high-level strategic direction.


What we are looking for?

  • 8+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role
  • Experience of working in Defense.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to work independently whilst planning, prioritizing and managing your own workload.
  • Portfolio and Program Management experience.
  • Experience of managing P&L and budgets.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with previous experience managing cross-functional teams across disparate sites.
  • Focus on development of people and teams.
  • A deep passion for learning and a desire to be constantly furthering your professional knowledge.


Some things that we think will be beneficial if you are considering applying for this role:

Previous COO or Ops Director roles.

Previous CoS roles within Defence.

Experience of management within a Software Engineering organisation.


Where will you be based?

MMD has offices in London, Oxford, Malvern and Lincoln as well as a number of remote

employees. It’s anticipated that the role will need to frequently visit the London/Oxford and

Lincoln locations in particular.
