Who are Glow Green
Glow Green is a nationwide green energy installation company who supply and install domestic and commercial PV solar panels, battery storage, boilers, air conditioning and electric vehicle charging systems, as well as servicing 15,000 care plan customers. Last year we reached revenues of £25M, with a clear path to further growth to become the UK's Largest energy installation business.
Our operations team, customer service and sales operation are based out of the Avalon building in Bournemouth. We employ over 130 Office staff. This includes our in-house software development team, as we have built a bespoke CRM system from the ground up. Our entire business operates from our bespoke CRM.
Our products are installed across the UK through our "Uber" style web app and we have over 2,000 nationwide installers. We have recently significantly enhanced our global supply chain and acquired a new 17,000 SQ/FT warehouse facility. This is part of our strategic growth to meet our future business plans.
We are also partnered with Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus PLC) and serve their 900,000 customers with their chosen energy saving products.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations to join our existing team. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will oversee the strategic management of the department responsible for pre-installation planning, scheduling, installation management and servicing, as well as our thousands of engineers nationwide.
Head of Operations Responsibilities
- Make a demonstrable contribution to the management and leadership of the business and fulfil the role of a key member of the senior management team;
- Lead the development of new initiatives and improvements that streamline service delivery, improve customer experience and enhance productivity;
- Provide management and leadership to the departments management team, driving forwards a culture of continuous improvement and delivery against operational goals;
- Support the ongoing training and development of the departments senior members and establish development plans;
- Oversee the strategic management of all field based operational teams, including scheduling, installation management, service, remedials and the nationwide network of field-based engineers across all product types;
- Complete a comprehensive review of service delivery across installations and service and breakdown functions, developing tactical plans for improvement that align with the strategic plans of the business;
- Ensure delivery of Key Performance Indicators and the departments performance management framework is aligned with the businesses objectives;
- Ensure effective planning and scheduling of installations across all product types and all functions of the scheduling team are performed, particularly the proactive confirmation of appointments and booking of new installations;
- Oversee the execution and monitoring of installations, identify reasons for jobs not being completed as planned and establish improvement plans;
- Work in collaboration with other departments such as sales and purchasing to improve customer service, reduce operating costs and enhance productivity;
- Continuously improve the management of the installation engineer network and service and breakdown teams, ensuring capacity meets the needs of sales, across all product types;
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Customer to ensure service levels are reviewed regularly and priority areas are identified;
- Undertake demand and capacity analysis to match engineer availability with sales across all postcodes and product types;
- Actively ensure field-based operational activities meet all regulatory requirements across all product types, and a robust compliance governance framework is maintained.
