CorEnergy is a Group company acting as Principal Designer and Principal Contractor providing Lighting, Solar PV, Energy Storage & Renewable Heating solutions to the public and private sectors nationwide.
Our offices are based in Manchester and attendance at the office two days per week is required as a minimum.
Typically, our turnkey projects range between £150k to £5m+ and include roof-mounted PV, ground-mounted solar PV, including complimentary technologies such as energy storage (BESS), DNO LV upgrades, LV electrical installations, LED lighting and controls & commercial scale heat pumps.
The Head of Operations will take full ownership of operational delivery, being accountable for projects P&L. This role will develop the business upon agreement from the Managing Director within the business strategy for growth, revenue delivery, people development and engagement.
The role will involve managing both the project delivery teams and the installation teams in a vertically integrated department. Reporting lines include Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Installation Managers, with the field-based installation teams reporting into Installation Management. The department has responsibility to onboard and performance manage sub-contractors, agency labour and ensure all projects are delivered to the required quality standards.
Alongside the management of the internal teams this role will also require the candidate to be able to nurture and maintain strong relationships with both clients and subcontractors to ensure we build long lasting partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have experience implementing and successfully running a Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure there is alignment between pipeline, forecasting and operational delivery.
The Head of Operations will have overall cost responsibility of a project and therefore must have experience in ensuring there are rigorous cost controls, monitoring and the ability to analyse and interpret data.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the highest example of Leadership Principles/Traits with key focus on the delivery of the Sureserve company values.
- Develop and executes plans that facilitate the achievement of the financial goals & strict KPI & P&L metrics. Including ensuring the teams track all costings and adhere to robust internal cost procedures and mandates.
- Attend monthly management meetings and provide costings, budget, project requirements and job completion for the project division.
- Facilitate effective communication between all levels of the business personnel to assure strong inter-company working relationships.
- Drives, prepares, and implements company and local strategies to energise and maximise the company goals and opportunities.
- Establish and continually assess business processes in line with business objectives.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of a project and to encourage a culture of continual improvement and quality.
- Responsible to drive the teams using successful leadership, organizational plans, customer service, and outstanding execution of all field operations strategies.
- Analyse data, including labour utilisation and cost control to ensure maximum efficiency and margin.
- Promote and uphold an excellent health and safety culture across the company.
- Ensure all activities and operations are carried out in strict compliance with company and government procedures & regulations.
- Implement and run a successful S&OP process.
- Build strong and long-lasting client relationships.
- Lead, develop and mentor the operational teams.
- Ensure we have robust on-site procedures for the installation teams focused on safety, quality, technical best practice and the principals of total lowest cost with responsibility for motivating the workforce to achieve the desired performance.
- Support the SHEQ lead with the creation and management of RAMS/method statements to ensure safety and compliance for all projects carried out for clients.
- Support the bid and sales team to ensure contact terms and project requirement are achievable and acceptable.
- Provide leadership to generate an engaging and stimulating working environment that generates a positive respectful and enjoyable place to work.
Required Skills & Experience
- The ideal candidate will have experience in managing projects and improving business processes and efficiencies.
- Comfortable liaising, and working with, all levels of both CorEnergy and the wider Sureserve Group
- Overseeing operational performance and the supply chain performance.
- Must have the ability to work closely with both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Clear communicator, confident in communicating and influencing at all levels.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks at once and to remain calm under pressure.Proven leadership experience.
- Experience with creating a culture of continual improvement with the ability to assess and implement improvements in current processes and tools.
- The ability to execute cost control processes and measures to ensure robust financial rigor.
- Establishing and monitoring key reporting metrics.
- Experience with analysing data and subsequently using that analysis to guide change or improvements.
- Experienced Excel user.
- Full UK driving licence with National travel.
