We are pleased to advertise an amazing opportunity for a Head of Nursing, AHPs, and Quality to join our Community Health Services Proactive and Planned Care Directorate, whose focus is community nursing, specialist nursing and specialist therapy.

We are looking for a professionally registered individual of high calibre with strong emotional intelligence, is values based, driven by high quality care standards and a passion for governance and doing the right thing in the right way. You will have a professional enthusiasm for nursing and therapy, be keen to deliver national drivers for change – virtual wards, long covid, the national community nursing plan/strategy and be instrumental in applying the national safer staffing tools across community nursing. You will lead governance and quality in the directorate alongside the senior leadership team.

The role requires visible leadership across various sites and bases from north , mid and south Nottinghamshire, in return we support balanced and flexible working across bases and home.

This role is pivotal in driving quality through our nursing and therapy teams to enable them to deliver the best clinical care with evidence base at the core.

We are looking for drive, enthusiasm, commitment and a passion for driving improvements for patients and staff delivering care.

Is this you?

You will take a lead role within the Proactive and Planned Care Directorate providing professional leadership, quality focus and professional challenge to clinical nursing and therapy led teams , providing leadership support to the Heads of Service and General Managers across the portfolio.

Primarily you will take overall responsibility and accountability for the standards of care delivered by workforce by:

  • providing professional leadership and guidance, inspiring the clinical workforce;
  • building a cohesive, mutually supportive team across the unit of management;
  • model high professional standards and lead by example, and promote a culture of learning, where learning is shared across the units and the wider Trust and successes are celebrated, creating an environment where excellence in clinical care will flourish in relation to the key dimensions of health care quality.
You will act as the Governance Lead for the service as well as the Professional Lead within the directorate of proactive and planned care, driving forward
  • the professional nursing and therapy agenda,
  • safer staffing,
  • professional standards,
  • developing systems and monitoring dashboards to drive improvement,
  • contribute to the development of the strategic direction of clinical services.
