What are the key responsibilities?


  • Plan and implement a compelling B2C and B2B marketing strategy in line with Chartwells and Compass Group UK priorities giving you the autonomy to shape, build and nurture the Chartwells value proposition whilst ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Drive and deliver the end-to-end NPD of Primary and Secondary menus working with the Chef Development team and Nutrition to deliver an insight led, enticing food offer.
  • Create and own the annual marketing calendars for both State and Independent sectors.
  • Develop and implement engaging omnichannel creative and content plans that will resonate with both client, customer, and parents.
  • Launch two new menus per year on schedule, on budget and ensure operational efficiency across both Primary and Secondary school estate.
  • Engage with Lead Sector Operators and owning end-to-end execution of all in-unit marketing offers and campaigns to ensure that they are effective and can be executed well at a local level.
  • Manage annual marketing budget to maximise effectiveness of all spend.
  • Lead and develop the Chartwells marketing team including two direct reports plus two indirect marketing leads within contracts.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with appropriate organisations and manage key relationships with external agencies (incl. creative and web design, retail signage, POS and packaging)
  • Support Sales and Retention in delivery of insight led, client focused and differentiated client propositions including presentation to client.
  • Gather insight on competition activity and communicate market insights internally
  • Define and report on agreed marketing KPIs.
  • Represent Chartwells marketing and leverage networks across Compass UK and Ireland.

We’re looking for experience, so a proven track record that shows how you’ve driven growth through Marketing for B2C and/or B2B brands, in all aspects of the marketing mix, from leading creation to execution across multi-channel communication programs with impactful content.
