Job description

This is a crucial leadership role within the Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions Directorate at the University of Sheffield. We are looking for a candidate who is able to successfully lead and shape the newly formed student recruitment marketing function and develop it to become a high performing team, delivering best in sector campaigns, excellent digital journeys and innovative and creative content.

You should be an experienced marketer who takes insight based risks to push the creative boundaries of Marketing and content creation to give Sheffield a competitive advantage in the marketplace. You will be able to confidently lead marketing for the institution, being highly visible across the University and the sector as a trusted expert. You will have a passion for HE and understand fully the customer journey of prospective students at all levels in both Home and International markets as well as being acutely aware of policy, demographic and other environmental factors.

An ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and collaborator with high literacy levels, be able to digest and interpret data and have the ability to engage with and present to stakeholders at all levels. A successful candidate should also be an experienced and successful leader with a wide range of tools to pull on and a proven track record of delivering change.

Your remit will include management of all student recruitment marketing activity for the organisation, through the Marketing Campaigns and Content and Creative Services teams as well as five Faculty Hubs. Areas of delivery include paid for media, digital and social journeys, direct marketing activity and video, graphic and traditional print content. You’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of all operational marketing processes as well as managing and developing your team to achieve our ambitious vision to deliver the best possible customer journey across all touchpoints.
