About Us
Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially constructed dance box.
We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company and stage giant dance events, including one for 50,000 people at the Millennium Dome. We were pioneers in electronic music and have a history of taking risks, innovation, and colourful and creative marketing.
As a business we don’t take ourselves too seriously, like to laugh and have fun, but we have high standards, a relentless attention to detail and the continuous improvement of our product, and we work hard as a team.
We hate cliché, doing things the way others do and continuously seek to differentiate our brands and products almost as a point of pride.
Thirty years later we opened The Ministry, a workspace run as a member’s club, in a 50,000 sq. ft Victorian warehouse in SE1. The design is relaxed but functional with a bar, opening windows, an outside courtyard and plenty of space to sit, relax, work and socialise – everything you wouldn’t expect to find in a standard office.
There’s great home cooked F&B, a state-of-the-art gym and fitness studio with daily classes, together with a cultural and business events programme. The building has its own events and conference space and we’re about to introduce our own premium range of candles, diffusers, soaps, and other body care products.
We believe this is the office of the future, members love it and it has been a big success.
We plan to take this a stage further with the opening of our second site at Westfield White City in early 2024. Members will access the office via an urban garden before ascending an escalator to a bar and deli with a five-metre floor to ceiling height.
In addition to a private gym for members, the workspace will include wellness studios, a bakery, rooftop bar and restaurant, juice bar and champagne and doughnut bar, all public facing. There will be an events and conference facility and multiple other products and amenities not typically associated with a workspace.
The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush will be revolutionary in its scope and offering and needs a world class marketing execution.
The role
We are seeking a hospitality marketer with a track record of successful launches of restaurants, bars, hotels, or members clubs. You will shape and direct the launch campaign for The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush, including the workspace, conference and events facility, and public facing wellness studios and our multiple F&B outlets.
You will need to know how to lead creative teams, motivate people and produce and manage marketing plans. Ideally you will have established relationships with creative and PR agencies and introduce new people and ideas to the business, including brand partners. You will understand maths and know how to interact with a finance department.
You will promote the importance of data in developing and improving our products and customer experience and relentlessly drive this. You will lead digital strategy across all related platforms and social channels. You will work closely with our other marketing teams at the club, conference and events business and Jai Dog Rescue, our charity based in Thailand, co ordinating joint initiatives and contributing your skills and ideas wherever you can.
Shortly we will launch Jai Fragrances, a range of candles, diffusers and body care products which will be available in all Ministry venues. Depending on your experience, this may fall under your remit. This is a fantastic job for someone who wants the challenge of launching a brand-new concept across multiple categories and platforms.
