What we’re looking for:

  • To effectively and proactively lead, manage and motivate the teams ensuring there is a culture of high performance, strong engagement and a commitment to continual improvement, who are dedicated to the delivery of IT services to the business.

  • Someone to ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation

  • Demonstrable experience establishing and implementing effective working arrangements & practices to ensure a consistent level of service delivery in line with the Peabody business plan.

  • Demonstrable experience of developing all aspects of IT Operations including the people, the tools and processes, knowledge centred support and a focus on continual service improvement and achieving customer and operational excellence.

  • Significant proven experience of IT operational management in a business critical, 24/7 environment.

As a Head of IT Operations, some of the key results for the role include:

  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation.
  • To establish and implement effective working arrangements & practices to ensure a consistent level of service delivery in line with the Peabody business plan.
  • Developed all aspects of IT Operations including the people, the tools and processes, knowledge centred support and a focus on continual service improvement and achieving customer and operational excellence.

    IT Infrastructure:
  • Lead the function that is responsible in ensuring that Infrastructure services are robust, flexible, and scalable meeting the needs of business-critical IT operations within a 24/7 environment.
  • To support the development of and continuous monitoring of all environments to ensure compliance and best practices are adhered to delivering agreed KPI’s.
  • Focus on delivering a highly available and resilient IT operational environment within a pre-determined budget.
  • Ensure all IT services are maintained to the correct standard in line with SLA’s through proactive monitoring and effective incident / problem management.

    End User Computing:
  • Lead the function that is responsible for ensuring a high standard of customer service across all the End User Computing teams, Service Desk, Field Engineers, and IT Service Management tooling responsibility (Service Now).
  • Lead the process for major incident reviews to ensure internal teams and suppliers learn lessons and improve their services following issues.
  • To ensure the provision of excellent customer service and experience to all stakeholders to maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Works closely with the business partners to ensure that service provided to the business is at the levels required and any queries or escalations are resolved successfully.
  • Work alongside the Head of Digital Solutions to align to the architecture practice and related governance processes including governance and design boards.
  • Communicate the value of architecture, its portfolio of services and its future capabilities.
  • Lead in the development and selection of new infrastructure products and services ensuring compatibility and technology roadmap direction.
  • Support the Portfolio and Transformation teams to size and estimate technology project implementation and identify resources/skills for delivery of solution.
  • Provide guidance and thought leadership to the IT teams, as well as communicating design decisions.

    Leadership Responsibilities:
  • As a member of the Leadership Team, make a major contribution to the strategic direction of the organisation, supporting and enabling the delivery of the Group Strategy.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills to help to build a diverse and inclusive organisation; ensuring that EDI principles are fully embedded in the attraction, recruitment, development, and retention of your teams and within the delivery of our services.
  • Be a confident role model and leader, ensuring you reflect the values of the organisation. Know what it takes to motivate your team and ensure they have the right tools to do the job.
