Role Overview:
Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer the Head of IT Operations will shape and lead the IT operations and service within the UK, delivering a market-leading quality of service to Bupa and our customers across a broad and complex IT estate. You will contribute to and drive the UK IT principles and strategy and also work with the leadership team to assure the business goals and objectives can be realised through IT.
What you’ll do:
The role will develop and oversee execution of business cases to deliver the required IT capabilities across the UK IT operations and services. You will manage teams, directly and in a matrix organisation to deliver IT capability while developing and overseeing UK IT operations and services to optimise levels of service, performance and quality while minimising the overall IT cost of ownership while establishing the necessary IT capability roadmap.
You will need to manage technology lifecycle plans to ensure proper and cost effective platform support as well as manage technology capacity plans. You’ll design and manage OLA and SLA agreements with internal and external partners and suppliers along with the design and implementation of KPI’s and scorecards to manage the UK IT operations and Services effectively and efficiently.
As a key member of the senior technology management team, you’ll participate in driving the overall direction and day to day management of UK IT ensuring the appropriate IT strategies are defined. You’ll support and challenge Management Team colleagues on the shaping and delivery of IT solutions and continuous improvement across Digital, Application and Service, Vendor Management, IT operations and Technology.
What you’ll bring:
Experience of IT resource strategy definition, delivery and operations
Experience of effective board level relationship management
A strong team player with the ability to challenge, provide leadership across the matrix, and coach senior staff
Drive, resilience and energy and the ability to adapt quickly to changes in priority
Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen with similar complexity portfolios
Proven senior IT Leader with broad and deep knowledge of IT operations and service management
Proven experience of operations in a complex high-change environment
Experience managing IT security in complex organisations
Experience of ITIL based IT Operations methodology definition and adoption
Experience of enterprise-level release management
Experience of IT delivery and operations management
Educated to degree level and will be a strong analytical thinker, capable of sound decision-making, and able to understand wider business issues without losing sight of the detail
Ability to demonstrate innovative thinking and have the broad knowledge and commercial aptitude to contribute ideas on all aspects of the organisation with the gravitas to influence at the most senior levels
Background in the deployment of Information and process systems and change programmes to underpin business strategy in large companies
