Job description
ITagency is delighted to be working with a UK-based specialist supplier of ceramic tiles and adhesives. Our client operates across 85 branches, 5 trading distribution hubs and has over 500 members of staff around the UK.
Our client is looking to substantially improve the cost basis, implement modern systems and processes and grow the business organically.
We are working with them to recruit a new Head of IT to ensure that the company’s IT infrastructure supports business goals as efficiently and effectively as possible. As the sole executive position with responsibility for IT within the company, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Supported initially by a temporary transition team, you will be expected to quickly take ownership of the IT functions and identify further resource requirements as required.
As part of the role you will be maintaining effective IT operations and identifying both long- and short-term IT needs for the company, specifically areas where technology and process change can improve efficiency and profitability.
You will be implementing new strategic and tactical initiatives to meet identified needs and analysing the costs and relative capabilities of new systems or upgrades to existing systems.
The role will work around defining and overseeing IT projects and upgrades through the whole project lifecycle. This will include managing the overall IT budget - both CapEx and OpEx. This will involve establishing and maintaining partnerships with hardware, software and service providers as well as leading primarily outsourced technical teams in everyday operations.
Finally, the role will involve recruitment and management of supporting IT staff where required and ensuring a high-level of KPI-led service to company stakeholders.
For this role, you will be expected to have at least five years’ experience working in a senior IT management position. You will need strong leadership and project management skills.
You will also ideally have or be working towards CISA, CISM or CISSP accreditations. You will need strong knowledge of the ISO 27001 information security standard, preferably with experience of implementation and the audit process.
Finally, you will need to have a full understanding and demonstrable practical experience of data protection regulations for the UK/EU.
