We have a rare opportunity for a Head of IT to join the Hendy Group. Reporting directly to the Property & IT Director, you will take responsibility for developing and then deploying a robust IT vision to enable the Group to continue to grow and gain maximum benefit from using all the necessary systems and also to keep our data secure. You will identify future challenges and opportunities in the IT landscape and develop the necessary strategies to overcome and leverage them whilst ensuring robust cyber security policies. This role will work with the IT Director and the wider Operational Board to identify and recommend new technology solutions to enable the business to maximise the opportunities of our data.

We are flexible on base location, however frequent regional travel will be required to fulfil the needs of our multi-site organisation.

About You:

Considering the nature of this role, it is important you:

  • Have extensive experience in IT within a fast-moving industry (automotive is not essential), with sound knowledge of multiple systems.
  • Are resilient and proactive as this will be a challenging and demanding role.
  • Have excellent and effective communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels, both internally and externally, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with third party agents.
  • Have working knowledge of ITIL Standards, ISO27001 and other IT security management standards.
  • Have proven leadership skills and experience in motivating and developing a team to achieve departmental objectives.

About the Role:

  • Ensure that group has adequate, secure, and robust underlying infrastructure in place to meet its current and future business demands and system availability.
  • Review regularly with operational teams their needs and concerns to ensure the infrastructure and IT Systems are developed and deployed in line with their needs.
  • Develop business plans for implementing and changing infrastructure and IT Systems to meet the business demands.
  • Arrange the deployment of any new infrastructure components, software and hardware and then manage any deployments.
  • Formulating and implementing the necessary business continuity processes and ensure they are tested regularly to provide the required business security.
  • Set-up and manage service level agreements with third party agents who may from time-to-time be involved with the functions within the IT infrastructure.
  • Experience in applying extensive knowledge of operational systems, integration technologies and methods, and presentation of certain technical topics for the support team.
  • Receiving assignments in the form of objectives towards short- and long-range goals and objectives.
  • Providing scheduled and ad hoc reports IT operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure that the IT Support team understand and can support the IT infrastructure deployed.
  • Maintain the group IT policies and ensure adherence to any legal obligations that Hendy need to obey to.
  • Effectively communicate all the IT policies and procedures with all the Managers and ensure they are complied with.
  • Regularly liaise with the IT Management team to ensure that the helpdesk is offering Hendy users a prompt, helpful and courteous response to queries and issues relating to infrastructure.
