At A Wilderness Way, we pride ourselves on being people focussed. We have an excellent opportunity for a passionate HR professional to join our People function to lead our dedicated HR team.
Main Responsibilities- The role will offer you a wide variety of projects and responsibilities. You will lead on key HR initiatives, including the development and implementation of our People Plan and Strategy.
- You will manage HR services, ensuring that all policies, HR systems and processes are reviewed and updated efficiently and remain compliant with legislation.
- You will support your team to align the HR objectives with strategic business requirements.
- Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, and working in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Director, and Academy Manager, you will identify improvement initiatives and drive forward positive change to achieve desired outcomes.
- You will fully support and promote our mission and values to ensure that the ‘team around the child’ can provide the best possible care and outcomes that make a difference for our children.
- Essentially, you will bring a high level of knowledge and expertise of embedding effective business partnering; managing complex employee relations cases with a commercial mindset; driving a high performance culture through coaching leaders to set clear development goals for their teams; and creating a supportive environment in which people can grow, thrive and build a career for which they are rewarded appropriately.
- The role is full-time and can be worked on a hybrid basis. In order to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders you will be required to work from our Head Office in Penrith, on average 2-3 days per week.
Essential qualities that we look for,
- Experience of leading and developing an HR team and delivering a People Strategy.
- An excellent understanding and practical application of UK Employment Law – particularly in relation to issue resolution and the development of policies and procedures.
- A full understanding of modern HR systems and using management information to drive insights and formulate proposals and recommendations.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully building long term relationships with a range of key stakeholders.
- A collaborative, adaptable and empathetic nature that supports healthy challenge to drive the best outcomes.
- A continual passion for self-development and updating HR skills and knowledge.
- A full, valid, driving licence
Desirable qualities that we look for,
- CIPD Qualification
- Previous experience of working within a similar role, ideally in the care sector or other regulated environment
- A good knowledge of legislation surrounding safeguarding children.
What we offer you
- Your salary is up to £60,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
- Your hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
