
Head of HR - Manufacturing Remote
Job description
- Lead the HR team, across 6 sites within the UK and business partner the Chief Operating Officer for MMI
- Assess and challenge organisational design / structures and support your business areas to assess and design optimal organisations, acting as a change agent and subject matter expert
- Effectively manage the implementation of both Group and UK initiatives and priorities
- Agree annual development plans for the Senior Leadership Teams with the relevant Directors
- Partner with Heads of Function acting as a change agent in delivering a strategic holistic "people plan" for their business areas to ensure sustainability of our workforce
- Work with HRM's and HRA's to ensure that talent pipeline for their areas are identified and ensure that plans are built to address-any supply issues as required
- Act as a coach to senior leadership teams
- Work with the Talent Development Lead to create career ladders / progression routes for the various departmental disciplines in areas of responsibility
- Ensure that an annual talent process is active ensuring great people are highlighted, supported and developed for future growth
- Build and execute change programmes which build capability and grow talent
- Ensure a performance management process is in place and operating effectively including annual moderation of results
- Ensure that changes are managed in such a way that a positive ER climate is maintained
- Work pro-actively with the wider HR team and HR Director to ensure a consistent employment experience
- Identifying, initiating & implementing improvements in processes, systems and ways of working
- Work collaboratively with financial controlling and budget holders to manage headcount and ensure budgets are appropriately managed
- Ensure appropriate sign off for external spend and provide internal challenge to ensure effective use of future spend
- Ensure HR projects delivered within given timescale and budget
- Ensure ER cases are resolved within reasonable & defined timescales
- Reporting & interpreting key HR statistical information ensuring data accuracy
- To work in partnership with the HR practice functions to build and implement HR initiatives fit for purpose for business areas
- CIPD qualified
- Significant experience in operating in a senior HR position within a complex, fast-paced organisation
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the business area
- A natural coaching style to challenge their partners to think differently and seek new perspectives and move beyond obstacles
- Proven experience of business-partnering stakeholders at senior leadership/director level
- Proven experience of leading large-scale HR projects
- Capable of working within a business partner/matrix structure
- Experience of building capability across large HR teams
- Experience working in an FMCG environment
- HR legislative understanding / knowledge
- High level of influencing and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Adaptable/flexible/positive/proactive
- Proven experience in advising on HR associated matters (grievance, disciplinary, performance management, absence, etc)
- Proven R&S experience (large scale & diverse roles)
- Good working knowledge and implementing Employment Law
