About this role:
The role will be responsible for the financial management and reportingof the joint venture partnerships and is a key contact point for the Trust’sjoint venture partners. This role is also responsible for the review and finalisation of the management accounts for the Trust ensuring they are produced accurately and in a timely manner. They are also responsible for the budgeting cycle and all processes within that cycle including regularforecasting.The post holder will have responsibility for CQC market oversight reporting, ensuring reports are accurate and delivered within the timescales specified by regulatory bodies. They will also lead the external audit process, learning from past years to anticipate the external auditors’requirements, demonstrating a pro-active approach to preparing for theaudit with the aim of reducing the length of audit and ensuring theaccounts are signed off promptly.The role is integral to our Finance team within the Trust and is amember of the Finance Leadership Team. This means the jobholderwill be working alongside a group of people who are all focused onpromoting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the Trustthrough exceptional accounting, reporting and analysis.
Head of finance will have 2 direct reports with overall responsibility of a team of 10. The team is based at Eyre Court however the Finance Leadership Team is based in Oxfordshire so the post holder is required to be able to manage across multiple locations.
Essential skills & knowledge:
- Educated to Degree Level;Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA);Has shown evidence of own career and professionaldevelopment.Previous experience in a large sized company andmanagement position.
- Extensive experience working in a large accountingfunction; technically strong, with a working knowledge of UKGAAP including FRS102.
- Working knowledge of VAT and its application tocharities operating in the care sector.
- Extensive experience of producing Statutory Accountsand Annual Reports.
- Experience of management of external auditprocesses.
- Good attention to detail and a propensity to achieveuniform standards of presentation and communication.
- Excellent systems experience including proficiency inMicrosoft Excel.
