About the role
Due to maternity leave, Local Partnerships is seeking a Head of Finance for a c. 15-month contract who is analytical, commercial and will enjoy involvement in all areas of the business.
Reporting to the Corporate Director with responsibility for Operations, the post-holder will provide corporate support to the Leadership Team and finance business partnering support to the wider business. They will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of corporate systems and processes and financial management arrangements, with specific reference to financial management, budgeting, financial analysis, and governance.
Leading a small, capable team, you will fully support all areas of the business with sound and insightful financial data. You will oversee all financial and statutory reporting and be the key liaison for external bodies such as Banks, Auditors and other advisory bodies. You will support on the continuous improvement of Board reporting and metric data, to increase financial visibility among the leadership team and enable the achievement of core strategic targets.
This is a senior role requiring highly competent technical and analytical knowledge to create detailed reports, so excellent communications and presentation skills are vital.
The Head of Finance may be based anywhere in England and Wales with travel to our offices in Westminster c. 3x per month.
About you
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with strong management and financial accounting skills and robust up-to-date technical tax and accounting knowledge.
- At least five years’ experience working in a senior finance role for a SME size business. Diligent, capable, hands-on, strong attention to detail, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels.
- Experience of managing a small team and of managing out-sourced service providers.
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex financial and budgetary information, and present findings in a clear and concise fashion.
