The Head of Estates helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose by delivering professional estates management and surveying services, supporting asset management and capital investment activities. The role will oversee the development and management of the asset management strategy, as well as supporting property related capital projects.
For this UK homebased role, you’ll be working 35 hours per week, worked 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. This role will involve regular travel to Guide Dog sites (3 to 6 per month), visits off site to external contractors, networking contacts or similar. Occasional overnight stays may also be required.

Candidate requirements
To be able to fulfil this role, the skills and experience we are looking for in a potential candidate include;
Essential
- A relevant and RICS accredited qualification in Building Surveying, or equivalent with significant and varied post-qualification experience.
- 6 GCSEs grade C or above.
- IWFM or RICS Membership.
- Significant experience of managing a property portfolio with 20+ properties, with a mix of freehold and leasehold.
- Significant experience of working with landlords and managing agents.
- Significant experience in working with property legal documents, and property acquisition and divestment processes.
- A detailed understanding of building services and building management systems/technologies.
- Significant experience of developing and managing asset management plans.
- Experience of managing budgeting processes and frequent budget reforecasting.
