Job description
We are looking for a Head of Enhanced Services to lead our team in Nottingham. You will have a Master’s degree or PhD in biology, biomolecular sciences, biotechnology or protein or formulation sciences or biochemistry or related disciplines and project management experience within a pharmaceutical CRO, CDMO or CMO.
Have you got a strong scientific background paired with commercial experience ideally within cell and gene therapy? If so, this is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Enhanced Services to further develop the service business within our organisation. You will be responsible for shaping and managing the company’s service business in line with our company strategy, overseeing service project managers to ensure customer projects are scoped, coordinated, executed, and delivered in time and on budget.
This role is based on site in central Nottingham and the site is a short walk from the train station and tram stop so it is easy to get to.

What you will accomplish together with us
Be accountable for development of the service vision and strategy; you will further develop Go-to-Market plan being responsible for Service business lifecycle management, creation of convincing sales collateral and training Sales & Field Application Specialists.
Together with Sales & Business Development colleagues you will proactively identify service opportunity leads, scope and negotiate customer service projects.
You will be responsible for writing technical project proposals with Service Project Managers and the Company’s subject matter experts.
Ensure operational excellence in the delivery service projects; be responsible for establishing robust lead to order and order to cash processes to secure future business and increase service revenue.
Be responsible for Services project management processes aligned with existing company governance processes to mitigate against risks, manage scope, schedules, cost, quality, and communicate to stakeholders ensuring client expectations are met
Develop and review performance of service project manager(s)
What will convince us
Master’s degree or PhD in biology, biomolecular sciences, biotechnology or protein or formulation sciences or biochemistry or related disciplines
Project Management experience within a pharmaceutical CRO, CDMO or CMO
Experience with Service Operations management in life science industry,
MBA or other business qualification
Knowledgeable about the drug development processes from drug candidate through to the market launch
A proactive self-starter, calm under pressure, with proven ability to build relationships and work effectively to win projects and meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to present with impact to external and internal stakeholders at all levels
History of working cross-functionally to drive success and results
Experience in risk management and resolution of non-scientific issues within projects.
Experience of project governance processes
Proficient in MS Office suite, CRM systems and PM software
