Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a HEAD OF ENGINEERING - DRIVETRAIN for the Blyth site, to lead and develop our technical competence in the delivery and commercial success of our Drivetrain business.
We are happy to consider candidates who are willing to move to the area and we can pay a relocation amount.
The role will ensure that our portfolio of services remain relevant to industry across all levels of the value chain, by enabling product development and supporting the sustained growth of our service offering.
What will I do?
- Engage with major industry clients to drive business development and technical direction
- Use innovative vision and market understanding to drive pioneering activity and build on our success to date
- Enable product development to grow our business
- Responsibility for P&L performance of Drivetrain business
- Devise and deliver business strategy for this area
- Direct technical aspects of the business, identifying where improvements can be made
- Representative testing and validation for emerging technologies
- Ensure maximum utilisation of people and assets
- Develop value proposition, new business streams and ongoing asset investment
What are we looking for?
- Extensive experience in a senior/leadership engineering role
- Knowledge of Drivetrain and Power Generation technology
- MSc in engineering or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of offshore renewable energy sector
- Proven experience of managing high value assets
- Strong track record of customer engagement and delivery to tight deadlines
- Able to apply rational risk taking and mitigation
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
- Strong experience of leading and mentoring a team
