Are you an experienced leader who is passionate about driving the people agenda? If so, then we may have just the opportunity for you, as we're on the search for a Head of Employee Experience to join the team.

Reporting into the Deputy People Director, this role is responsible for heading up our employee experience department, developing and driving the employee experience strategy at LNER. You will lead our People Partnering team, Recruitment and Resourcing, Strategic Workforce Planning and Diversity and Inclusion. You'll provide effective leadership and strategic direction to ensure we deliver a high quality, professional and valued people service across LNER.

With solid commercial understanding, you'll be adept at driving business results and delivering an effective business support services which helps drive the wider business strategy.

What else will you be involved in?

  • Leading and managing the team, developing competency, capability and professionalism to retain and develop appropriate talent
  • Implementing systems for the regular review of performance of direct reports, provide constructive feedback and advice and ensure that their development needs are met to help them achieve their full potential
  • Developing and implementing people initiatives in line with organisational objectives and in keeping with LNER ‘Living it' values
  • Initiating and managing cultural change across the business
  • Driving actions based on employee feedback and data, with the aim of creating a better working environment and an even more engaged culture.
  • Implementing initiatives that deliver improvements in employee experience
  • Identifying radical solutions to business challenges

Does this sound like the right role for you?

Of course, with this being a key role in our People Team, there are some ‘must haves' to be successful. You'll be an effective leader with experience of managing at a senior level, ideally within complex organisations. You'll also be able to demonstrate,

  • A sound understanding of HR Management, including employee relations, talent management and diversity and inclusion
  • Be an innovative and strategic thinker, focused on continuous improvement
  • Evidence of delivering effective people solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to balance commercial requirements with the people agenda
  • Inspiring leadership, able to set, impart and manage against a committed strategy
  • Able to create and foster an environment where excellence can be delivered
  • CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential with the right experience
