Job description
The postholder will provide senior leadership to the education function of the Trust, overseeing the teams involved in and delivering of education and learner experience. They will ensure that EEAST provides excellent training programmes in well managed and well lead centers, focusing on quality and learner experience, with engaged and active Lecturer Practitioners and Learners.
The postholder will lead the team in education and training in delivering the Trust’s strategic workforce objectives, across several key portfolios: to embed sustainable good practice in:
- Innovation & Design
- Academic Practice
- Business Operations
- Apprenticeships & Skills
- Driver Training
Infection Prevention and Control: All Trust employees have duties under the “Health and safety at Work etc. Act 1974” which have a bearing on the prevention and control of infection.

The postholder will provide strategic oversight of these workstreams (Academic Practice, Innovation & Design, Business Operations, Apprenticeships & Skills, Driver Training), including other aligned workstreams that may be added in time to come, ensuring clear accountability and governance are in place, providing effective support to staff. Working with the Deputy Director for Education & Professional Development the post holder will provide regular assurance updates to the Strategy, Culture and Education (SCE) Programme Group and provide subject matter input to relevant Trust groups and committees.
