About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Delivery leading our Newcastle office who will be accountable for the running and continued success of this established business unit.

This presents a fantastic opportunity to join the BJSS UK Tech Leadership Team and drive the Region forward, helping to achieve our ambitious company vision and objectives and contributing to BJSS' continued success and outstanding delivery track record.

2.Our clients – building on our phenomenal delivery track record, you will be responsible for continued delivery success with our existing clients, whilst also working with Business Development teams to bring new, exciting projects for your teams to work on

3.Our profitable, sustainable business – as the owner of the regional P&Ls, you will be accountable for the commercial efficiency and success of your offices

As a member of BJSS' UK Tech Delivery Leadership Team, you will have a pivotal role in the continued growth, development and commercial success of BJSS and you will be targeted to achieve this. It's your office and as a strong and influential leader, you need to continue to foster a vibrant place to work where our people are engaged, are adopting modern delivery practices and are committed to achieving successful outcomes.

About You

At the heart of our business are our people. A credible leader, you will inspire and actively engage with our people whilst building strong and trusted relationships with our clients. You need to maintain and enhance an office environment where people want to be, encouraging dynamic and collaborative delivery. You'll need to be a confident and articulate presenter, as the role will include public speaking internally and externally on a regular basis.

You will have strong agile delivery experience and be able to personally shape, influence and support delivery assignments across the BJSS portfolio, setting Projects up for success. Being able to excel and make an appreciable difference within a high calibre, dynamic and challenging environment is one of the most stimulating elements of the role. A good appreciation of technology is vital, as is knowing when to defer to the technical expertise of the team around you. You will collaborate with other regional Heads of Delivery to develop effective distributed-team ways of working.

Commercial experience and entrepreneurial credentials will be key to success; you will be involved with preparing commercial proposals and contractual terms for your delivery engagements and so it is important that these are prepared with appropriate levels of understanding of team profiles, cost, margin, delivery risk etc. and subsequently managed carefully throughout the delivery of the project.

Collaborating with our Sales, Pre-Sales and Client Services teams, you and your team will work to develop new business opportunities and will ensure that successful client outcomes are achieved.

Role Characteristics

Leadership & People

  • Lead by example; encourage and inspire your team to do their best work, every day.

  • Be a focal point for our consultants, enabling a challenging but supportive environment.
  • Be accountable for regional functions including people and well-being, careers and line management, technical quality and engagement delivery, recruitment, resourcing, and operations, in line with the business strategy.
  • Create an environment that attracts new talent and retains existing talent.

Delivery & Quality

  • Be accountable for the quality across all engagements that are delivered from your business unit.
  • Ensure that quality procedures are followed and in collaboration with the Leadership Team, ensure that high-quality delivery is achieved.
  • Look after your people and deliver high quality solutions using agreed BJSS methods and standards.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Client Services to be recognised as strategic and trusted partners by our clients.

Business & Operations

  • Collaborate with the other Heads of Delivery to run an efficient, effective and profitable organisation.
  • Support and get involved with marketing, sales and pre-sales.
  • Work with other key leaders (Industries, Consulting etc.) as 'One Team'
  • Create, sustain and manage a broad range of internal and external relationships.
  • Understand our business objectives for the year. Growth and cost objectives for your business unit will be agreed and set with the Senior Leadership Team and you will be targeted to achieve this.
  • Agree and accept commercial proposals/rates that your team will deliver against and will be expected to achieve margin targets set by the Senior Leadership Team.

Regional Identity

  • Your team should feel integrated with central BJSS activity and be aware of news and developments that are relevant to BJSS.
  • However, the Newcastle office has its own identity which is relevant to the local marketplace and should be encouraged and developed.
  • Play a part in the local tech community to help enhance visibility of the BJSS brand amongst clients and potential recruits.
  • Encourage involvement of your team with regional events, meetups etc. to develop the profile of BJSS and people's skills.
  • Identify, agree and support CSR opportunities for BJSS which fit with our vision.
