Role Purpose:

The Head of Data & Analytics Transformation will lead the development, execution, and implementation of Data and analytics transformation initiatives within UK CMB.

The role holder will work closely with the IT, Transformation, Digital, Entity DOA, and Business functions to define the organisation's data transformation objectives, align them with business strategy and goals, and develop a roadmap to unite the initiatives to achieve them.

The role holder will operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility, resilience and adaptability to achieve numerous objectives of the role and the D&A function. The successful candidate will have a growth mindset, demonstrate thought leadership, and possess the ability to prioritise, manage multiple stakeholders and deliver transformative data solutions to achieve the organisation's objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement the Data & Analytics transformation strategy, vision, and roadmap to drive initiatives aimed at transforming the organisation.
  • Develop recommendations and business cases for improvements and identify opportunities for better data-driven decision-making using new technologies.
  • Responsible for the cyclical Data and Analytical investment strategy. Build and syndicate business case/use case development including sponsorship with the business and/or SBIs.
  • Cost-up and facilitate funding applications into the various committees and boards.
  • Lead CTB Book of Work execution as it relates to UK Data and Analytics and UK CMB.
  • Lead CTB Governance as it relates to HSBC’s Transformation Framework – Cost Management, RAID, Mandatory and nonmandatory reporting that ensure transformation activities are appropriately governed and managed to the highest standards.
  • Partner with the UK D&A Analytical Heads of function to fulfil their wants, needs and aspirations to build, maintain and sustain a high-performance D&A organisation that delivers on automation, push and self-serve capabilities.
  • Work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven insights and transformation initiatives that support overall business objectives.
  • Partner with IT, Transformation, Digital functions to cross pollenate and leverage Data and Analytical technology heighten collaboration agenda and wider aspiration and goals of UK CMB.
  • Create and manage the implementation of Data and Analytical transformation projects (which may be exclusive or inclusive change respectively) and ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Work hand-in-glove with WDAC on Operating model design for the Ringfence bank, managing sociotechnical integrations and optimisation of the same for UK CMB priorities.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of Data and Information used to support data transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with GB/GFs to build Data-driven solution architecture that ensure the UK’s adoption of Global initiatives where reasonably practicable and legitimate under Ringfence bank regulations.
  • Operate as the conduit between UK D&A and HBUK Data Governance, Privacy, Quality and Security ensuring compliance with new and emerging regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Mentor, coach and develop a high-performance transformation culture with UK D&A, leveraging best practices and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Establish and manage relationships with external vendors that can provide additional/enriched capabilities for D&A.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience in Data Transformation, Data Governance and Data Quality, with Data Management experience being a nice to have.
  • Experience working in Transformation roles.
  • Experience leading Data & Analytical change programmes/projects.
  • Good knowledge of Database structures, conceptual designs and pipelines.
  • Strong ‘applied’ Analytics skills required to work alongside D&A professionals.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple programmes and projects simultaneously. Membership of Professional Project Management body such as the Chartered Association of Project Managers. Prince2 practitioner.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading teams, coaching for change, and driving colleague engagement as it relates to Data Infrastructure and Analytical Architecture. Member of CMI or similar professional body.
  • Critical thinking and practitioner skills in ‘design thinking’ and ‘sociotechnical thinking’.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The base location for this role will be 1 Centenary Square, Birmingham with hybrid working.
