We’re looking for a Head of Function to lead our Consumer Relationships COO Oversight team. This is an exciting and high profile role with a focus on building relationships with strategic internal customers, in particular, the Consumer Relationships COO Director and their team, acting as their business partner.
You'll monitor a wide range of activities ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by collaborating closely with all internal risk management functions and local management while supporting the development and implementation of the organisation's compliance policy. As a Head of Function you’ll support the Consumer Relationships CCOR Director in providing oversight across the Business Unit including major change initiatives, embedding of RCSA and engagement with Regulators.
If you love a challenge, have a thirst to improve, embrace new challenges and are passionate about driving genuine behavioural change then this is the role for you.
About this opportunity
Conduct, Compliance and Operational Risk (CCOR) provides independent assurance to the Board and GEC, that the control framework is effective, and that the Group takes reasonable steps to follow its regulatory obligations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Take ownership to formally grow capabilities within the Consumer Relationships COO Oversight Team, while personally investing in the growth of own and others' capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods.
- Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic challenges.
- Collaborate closely with technical specialists elsewhere in CCOR notably in areas responsible for oversight of Data, Security, 3rd parties and Operational Resilience.
- Provide leadership, management and development of a team of managers and senior managers.
- Collaborate across CCOR and Risk to further the objectives of the broader function.
We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you.
What you’ll need
- In-depth understanding of Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) approach.
- Significant work experience in supporting businesses in a partnership role.
- Significant experience of leading or overseeing major change programmes.
- Experience of producing high quality written content in the form of board / GEC-1 papers and briefings.
And any experience of these would be really useful
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Understanding of the Group’s Risk Management Frameworks and related appropriate Control Environment.
- Good technical knowledge of key areas of coverage such as Complaint Handling, Data, Security and Operational Resilience.
- Record of delivering results and an awareness of the importance of documentary evidence for key decisions.
