About the role:

You will be responsible for protecting the value of BT’s largest managed contracts in the Defence space. Profit and loss in this sector is more than £200 million per annum, with a contract value of more than £6 billion covering a number of contracts with the Ministry of Defence. You will be responsible for leading the Defence contract management team and the CMO through mitigating risks, effectively delivering contractual obligations and excellent stakeholder management. In this role, you will be accountable for the commercial management of contracts as well as delivering change control and development opportunities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders, Account Management, Director of Defence and Finance teams
  • Having strong relationships with your peers will also be important to ensure best practice is shared and implemented
  • Meeting wider BT teams to ensure customer requirements can be delivered and managing these expectations
  • Assessing and managing in-life contractual obligations, assigning internal BT teams to relevant tasks
  • Managing performance of the 30+ third-party suppliers who help deliver contracted services and their annual spend
  • Monitoring compliance including T&Cs and SLAs within contractual obligations
  • Ensuring the business is able to understand and action change effectively
  • Championing the maximisation of commercial opportunities, including documenting, negotiating and resolving disputes
  • Supporting contract governance (CGRs), risk management, customer support, debt and profit and loss management
  • Making sure the wider Scotland Contract Management Team are actively managing all contracts and agreed governance is used at all times
