An exciting opportunity has arisen for two ambitious people to join our Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery Team as Band 4 Dietetic Assistants. These are two new posts offering a fixed term contract until end March 2024. If you are keen to expand your knowledge in Obesity and, with the support of the Bariatric Dietitians, scope and develop this new post to embrace new ways of working within an ever-changing NHS this could be the post for you.
This opportunity will involve working within a highly regarded multidisciplinary service providing both Medical and Surgical Obesity Services for adults with obesity in accordance with the NICE guidelines. The existing Bariatric/Obesity Services multidisciplinary team is comprised of Bariatric Surgeons, Bariatric Physicians, Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists and Dietitians.
The Bariatric Dietitians provide clinical nutrition and dietetic expertise to out-patients attending the Medical and Surgical Obesity Services at Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust and are integral members of the Obesity Services Multidisciplinary Team. The Dietitians work together to provide combined dietetic support for both the medical and surgical services and this role would provide both administrative and clinical support to the Bariatric Dietitians.
Whilst no previous nutrition or dietetic training is required for this role an interest in nutrition and obesity and excellent communication skills are required.
