An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the Head of Access. This is an operational post at the heart of a large NHS Trust aiming to provide safe healthcare, of the highest quality, all the time. They should also have experience of day-to-day operational management, service improvement and project delivery.
In this role you will work closely with members of the operational leadership team and key stakeholders within the organisation to help deliver key objectives aligned to the Trust’s strategy.
SKILL/ QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
You will need to be educated to post graduate level or have equivalent experience in a leadership role. You should have previous experience in staff, performance and financial management.

- Provide leadership to the Central Access and Operational DQ Improvement teams, ensuring agreed objectives are progressed and KPI’s met.
- Lead on communications to ensure oeprational leadership teams are aware of all relevant aspects of the access agenda
- Work with colleagues to ensure that all staff are briefed and have the necessary skills and understanding for the successful management of Referral to Treatment (RTT) times
- Provide assurance that waiting list management, access policies, outpatient and inpatient scheduling are delivering to the required standards.
- Provide professional advice and support to operational colleagues
- Work with the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and the CSU’s when negotiating the pricing and administrative arrangements with local Independent Sector Providers as part of waiting list related activity being undertaken.
- Represent the Trust with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and contribute to the development of financial plans to enable the delivery of elective service developments
- To participate in internal and external audits where required
- To manage specific projects as agreed with the senior operational team.
- Responsible for co-ordinating and prioritising consistent and effective management of the budgets as assigned to portfolio
- Provide training, advice and support on own role and its responsibilities.
