Data Analytics at Marshmallow

We're here to generate insights and actions from internal and external data sources across the company! This includes analytics, predictive modelling, and prescriptive recommendations. We deliver high-impact work to the business, focusing on high-risk, high-reward projects, and make sure all decisions are data-driven.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide data analytics and insights to enable our tribe’s strategies

  • Perform analysis on a variety of data topics, helping to solve challenges such as interpreting A/B test results, predicting user behaviours and finding top performing user segments.

  • Analyse data captured in digital assets for profiling customers, understand customer behaviour, identify business opportunities and provide better customer experience

  • Explore new potential partners and sources to augment our data driven campaigns for effective business growth

  • Lead on big data analytics processes to develop data visualisation and high quality dashboards for self service

  • Champion data quality and development a framework to ensure our data quality is continuously improving

  • Develop best practices of insurance digital data analytics capability and unleash business value from the data captured services/ claims history

  • Delivering valuable insights and recommendations to senior management through effective presentation

  • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders, Data Science, Data & Platform Engineering teams to provide end-to-end data analytics insights

  • Leading a team of mid-senior analysts

  • Accelerate the growth of the team data capability and its business influence

  • Develop and promote company-wide best practices around accessing data and using our BI and reporting tools

Who you are

  • Proven leadership over a data analytics function

  • Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, data modelling, ETL/ ELTand data mining techniques & algorithms

  • Leading the data analytics project lifecycle (identification, extraction, loading, transforming/shaping, analysing, developing and tracking)

  • Influencing engineers, product managers and senior stakeholders to create value and business impact through better data availability, quality, visualization and analysis

  • Influence company-wide best practices around accessing data and using our BI and reporting tools

Our process

We break it up into 3 stages:

  • Initial call with Luke Watts our our TA partner (45 mins)

  • A past experience interview with our CIO (60 mins)

  • A technical interview with one of our hiring managers, an engineer and a PM.

  • A culture interview with one of our bar raisers (1 hour)

  • We’ll let you know if you’re invited to an interview or not. But, as a small team with a lot of applications to consider, we can’t give personal feedback on each application.
