Job Title: Healthcare Assistant – Palliative care
Trust Location: Backford Chester
Pay Rates: £10.37- £18.97
Days 10.37 Nights & Saturday 14.62 Sundays and Bank Holidays 18.97
Shift Patterns: Long Days, Weekends & Bank Holidays
Working under the guidance of healthcare professionals as a healthcare assistant you’ll be vital to ensuring the patients experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

- Control of symptoms, for example pain or nausea/sickness
- Rehabilitation following treatment
- Care in the last days of life

What you’ll be responsible for:
- Contribute to the delivery of a planned programme of care under the direct supervision of the nurse
- Checking symptoms and vital signs and feedback to the nurse
- Recognising, responding to, and escalating emergency situations
- Maintain dignity of services users whilst providing personal care
- Participate in the cleaning of clinical areas and protocols of infection control`
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll need to have the following qualification/experience:
- A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital environment within the last 3 years
Or
- A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a Hospice or Care Home specialising in end of life care.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or Care Certificate
- Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
