Job description
We have a vacancy for Handyperson/Driver to join our Nursing & Residential Care Home Team.
This is a part-time position & will involve working 27 Hours per week, Monday-Friday.
The main duties of this role include:
· Carrying out general maintenance as requested with regard to the Health & Safety at Work Act (eg. beds, wheelchairs, TVs, recliners and other furniture)
· Decorating jobs as they occur (including painting and wallpapering)
· Basic plumbing repairs such as minor blockages, etc.
· Garden maintenance
· To assist in the general hygiene of the external buildings (for example keeping the refuse area tidy.)
· To assist in the general hygiene of the internal building, (for example distribution of hand sanitiser/face masks).
· Monthly and weekly equipment and environment checks and completing associated paperwork
· To drive the company vehicle as necessary. For example, outings, transfers of residents/ equipment.
· To undertake the delivery of specimens as requested by medical/nursing staff. The collection of prescriptions and collection of drugs form chemists as required.
· Occasional trips to the shops
· To complete the required paperwork, recording daily, weekly, monthly tasks etc
· To undertake any other duties as and when required.
You will need an aptitude for maintenance & should be able to build up a working relationship with our nominated contractors (electrician, plumber, gas engineer).
You will need an Enhanced Disclosure (criminal records check) before starting work.
