Job description

The Music Teaching Agency are currently looking to recruit a Guitar Teacher to work in an after-school guitar club at a Primary School in Fulham, every Monday from 3:15-4:15 pm. If you are focused, self-motivated and have a passion for teaching guitar, we would love to hear from you.

About our schools and private clients:

  • Schools and private clients located across the Southwest London area
  • Mixture of group and 1:1 teaching
  • Flexible working hours

A successful candidate will:

  • Have experience teaching guitar to children and/or young people
  • Be committed and passionate about working with children and young people
  • A team player
  • Build positive relationships with teaching staff, children, and parents
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated
  • Able to reliably commute to schools and private clients in the Southeast London area
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • Be self-employed

Key responsibilities:

  • Working in groups and/or 1:1 teaching guitar with children and/or young people
  • Adhere to the safeguarding and child protection procedures of our schools and clients
  • Ensure pupils make good progress learning the guitar
  • Encourage pupils to participate in concerts and/or recitals
  • Preparing pupils to take part in music examinations

The Music Teaching Agency is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’.

All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
