Group Operational Risk Analyst - National Salary £30,000 - £40,000. London Salary £40,000 - £50,000.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a good grounding in Operational Risk Management and with an understanding of the insurance sector, including life and/or general insurance business. As a vital member of the team, you will assist in the development, maintenance and application of the Operational Risk and Control Management Framework.

You will have great interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to analyse complicated and often diverse risk data/information, be comfortable applying a level of scrutiny and challenge and draw insightful conclusions.
We are particularly keen to find somebody with a track record of identifying, simplifying, and automating existing processes.
A bit about the job:
You will Support the Group Operational Risk team in bedding in risk methodologies, seeking opportunities and making recommendations over how these can be made more effective and efficient in enabling the business more broadly to understand and manage (rather than simply administer) their Operational Risks and controls. This will help to promote greater focus on outcomes to enable better quality risk-based decisions for our customers and our other key stakeholders.
You will help to provide Assurance to the Aviva plc Board (and our regulators) that the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, and systems or from external events is understood and being managed within acceptable appetites through sustainable growth.
Aviva uses “smart-working”, and the person in this role can be based anywhere commutable to an Aviva office.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience and understanding of Operational Risk management practices within financial services and the wider related regulatory environment. Understanding of General Insurance and or Life Insurance would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to quickly collate, analyse and formulate independent views on key themes and issues. Comfortable with the manipulation of large data sets.
- Comfortable with creating, maintaining, and delivering high quality Operational Risk training to many colleagues across the markets.
- Experience working closely with the 1st line of defence/other markets or entities, as well as building strong and productive working relationships.
- Proactive and hands-on approach, with good organisational and problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high quality results in a timely manner. As well as a drive for streamlining existing processes.

- National Salary £30,000 - £40,000. London Salary £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
