Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join our outpatient / community service service in this newly created full time Band 6 role.
This post has been established by a partial re-design of the adult SLT service. We have used various sessions from mixed IP and OP posts to create this single - focused, specialist outpatient / community position, providing clinic, domiciliary or nursing home visits as needed, to a wide range of clients.
You are likely to work within OP clinics across the UHB (Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf & Bridgend).
CTM has a wide range of specialty services which work in harmony with the OP & community team. These include staff working within clinical specialisms such as palliative care, ESD, AAC, Head & Neck cancer, and Older Persons Mental Health Services, as well as our acute general medical and stroke IP services.
We have excellent resources to support both communication and swallowing work. There is good access to both VFS and FEES instrumental assessments to support clinical decision making.
We have regular staff workshops and understand the importance of staff having regular clinical supervision and access to opportunities for professional development. We are also strongly committed to creating a culture of psychological safety and staff wellbeing.
