Job Description


Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role will drive the development and delivery of an innovative global Talent and Development strategy that enables the delivery of LGC’s objectives through maximising the potential of our leaders and our people talent. You'll partner with the HR Leadership Team and Business Units to shape our talent assessment methodology, assess talent and development needs at all levels, and enable LGC to build a strong Talent and Succession pipeline.

  • Overhaul and revamp the Talent/Succession process, and drive a clear identification of/and development programme for, Hi-Potential Talent (HiPos).
  • Drive and develop the right leadership development approach that addresses the needs of the business and underpins the Talent philosophy, and appropriately segmented against leadership levels in the organisation.
  • Oversee the global approach to Learning and Development (L&D) ensuring the construct and management of a comprehensive suite of programmes.
  • Champion and drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in the context of diversifying our talent at all levels and notably driving great diversity at senior levels within LGC.
  • Align with the business, and then implement, a joined up global approach to performance management, aligned with an emerging new HCM that is about to be implemented – active participation in designing that HCM will be critical as is delivery of training on the new system and performance management process.
  • Align the talent management approach with the newly revised Job Architecture and career ladders to ensure our approach is joined up and aligned with our philosophy on career management and development programmes.
  • Oversee and manage our employee engagement programme/survey from the capturing of employee response data, reporting back out to senior leadership and enabling the business to develop the right responses to the data found.

Qualifications
  • Experience heading up Global Talent Management with extensive expertise in designing and implementing creative broad-based executive, leadership and people-development and talent programmes/structures within large complex environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of effectively influencing the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in the approach to global talent development, the management of the talent book and global succession planning and actions.
  • Experience of M&As / company integrations where re-alignment of talent programmes and performance management approaches.
  • Proven ability to earn the trust of peers across the organization, inspire the ELT and other key stakeholders by understanding their business needs and building strong and sustainable relationships through listening and consultative skills.
  • Proven member of the HRLT and operating as an effective partner with the broad HR organisation.
  • Knowledge of having worked with a new HCM would be beneficial.
  • Experience of having optimised the use of the UK Apprenticeship levy for organisational advantage.
  • An experienced strategic planner with sound technical skills, strong data driven ability, high level judgment, and is a self-directed person who is measured, resilient, and a team player, yet equally able to engage and deliver on the ground development/training at all levels in the organisation.
