The Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. The team’s charter is to build out end to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team, you’ll also support long-term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition. All while enhancing transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments, safeguarding shareholder interest.
The MSIO - Infrastructure Finance team provides financial leadership and transparency across Microsoft’s cloud supply chain, DC, and networking infrastructure businesses, enabling end to end cloud planning and strategy.
We are looking for a Group Finance Manager to provide decision support for Azure Fiber manufacturing facility and deployment portfolio.
Responsibilities
The Data Infrastructure finance team is seeking a Group Finance Manager for Azure Fiber manufacturing operations at the UK to partner with CO+I, CIA and Azure Networking to help shape the future of our cloud infrastructure.
This position will be focused on areas including financial controllership for manufacturing facility, finance rhythms, and the execution of a central strategy for Azure Fiber deployment portfolio.
Controllership
- Oversee and manage the financial rhythm (close, budget, forecast) rhythm including inventory accounting and sub-ledger transactions.
- Develop and implement manage costs accounting process and variance planning for finished goods and WIP inventory.
- Collaborate with tax, trade, and other statutory teams to ensure compliance with local regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Partner with functional teams to oversee execution of integration process.
Business Partnership
- Ensure that financial accountability and strategic cooperation reach high standards among regional and global stakeholders. Act as a vital advisor for enhancing critical performance indicators.
- Demonstrate agility and provide finance partnership quickly but thoughtfully to unexpected changes to portfolio prioritization, new tech adoption scenario and research milestones.
- Provide supervision and support to fellow finance team members at Azure Fiber, assisting them in their professional development and growth.
Process Improvement
- Integrates varied data sources and assimilates the information for Cloud Infrastructure into a comprehensive and clear narrative.
- Continuously improve processes to drive automation, efficiency, prioritization, and cross team collaboration.
Qualifications
Our team values the following set of skills, which this role will help you enhance:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting or related field, MBA or equivalent work experience to a MBA program preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in plant operations, supply chain management, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts & principles including cash flow, NPV, IRR, ROI, Economic Profit, KPI management.
- High level of understanding of how key accounting decisions impact the business units and forecasted operating results/cash flows.
- Strong business partnering capabilities, collaborative and inclusive when working with others
