Innovative non-profit actively supporting enviromental issues internationally seek senior finance professional during period of change and development. As Group Financial Controller, you will play a leading role in the Enabling Services team, who together enable the organization to deliver innovation that creates the change we have committed to, meet our funders’ needs, and support our partners and community to work seamlessly alongside us.
Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will support and drive performance in line with annual business plans and longer-term goals set by the Management team. As such, the Group Financial will be accountable for developing and applying finance policies and practices and to provide financial input for decision-making. E
The successful candidate will be responsible for all accounting, taxes and compliance, improving finance process and systems and enhancing the control environment. Equally, the individual will support colleagues on all matters financial.
The principal challenge for the finance leadership is to evolve our finance function from one optimized for serving a set of clearly specified, relatively stable, annually recurring programmes funded by a single large grantor to one designed for a multi-funder environment in which agility, responsiveness, financial acumen, risk intelligence and, above all, proactive business partnering and entrepreneurship in service of momentum and impact are critical. These success factors must be underpinned by a focus on user experience and on fit-for-purpose platforms, processes, procedures, systems, and tools

ABOUT YOU
Education/Qualifications
- A university degree in business administration, financial management, operations, or a similar field.
- Holder of a recognised accounting qualification with over six years post qualification experience.
Experience
- 5+ years experience in an FC role operating internationally
- Experience in the preparation of management, statutory and Group consolidation accounts.
- Substantial experience of working in complex entities with multi-national interests and distributed teams (working in different locations and through remote or virtual working) and experience of managing finance teams (preferable European).
- Experience of multiple sectors, ideally with a mix of public and private; experience in the not-for-profit sector/grant making environment including EU grant funding would be beneficial.
- Experience with a variety of ERP systems, ideally including Unit4.
- Bid, B2B sales, and fundraising business experience would be helpful.

- Ability to present financial information in a clear, concise and accessible way for diverse audiences.

- Fluency in English and another European language
