Group Brand Designer (Entry Level)

The Group Communications and Brand function is newly created and allows us to connect our Brand across the entire Bank. Our role is to strengthen the role of Brand and Brand partnerships within the organisation and develop a one brand narrative across all audience groups.
The role-holder will work in the Brand Design and Management team, helping to create, implement and maintain the Create Design System. ‘Create’ incorporates the Global Brand Design Standards, Guidelines, Toolkits and Assets that enable the rest of the design functions across the bank to create on-brand, distinctive and memorable experiences that drive customer preference. The role holder will work together with the Senior Brand Designers and creative contractors within the team to deliver new design standards and assets as well as providing feedback and creative direction to digital, business, product and marketing teams across the globe.
The ideal candidate would be someone with a creative eye with a passion for customer-centric design, design thinking and branding, that are in the early stages of their career. The role offers opportunities to work with and learn from industry experts and design professionals from all sorts of backgrounds from large format print design down to customer journey mapping and app design.

In this role, you will:
- Support the creative delivery of the HSBC Group Brand strategy and integration of our brand into the core strategic themes
- Contribute to the evolution of HSBC’s brand and design system, toolkits and design practices across the bank’s design teams and external partners
- Assist in the maintenance and running of weekly creative working sessions and forums
- Assist in the creation of Brand and Design Standards including illustration, photography, tone of voice, web and app, amongst other brand foundations.
- Playing a supporting role in managing the Global Living Wall programme where all global hero creative is shared, discussed, and improved.
- Production and reproduction of creative assets and assist in evolving HSBC’s brand assets and design standards
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Essential:
- Academic and/or professional background in a design related field
- Evidence in the form of a portfolio or website showing your design related work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of delivering work using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) for both print and digital mediums.
- UX and/or UI experience in working with UX design tools (Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programmes (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams)
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise
- A friendly and confident manner that enables open and active dialogue between Brand Design and stakeholders
- Ability to learn and understand AI and Machine Learning automation tools
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a large complex organisation
- Experience of working within financial services
- Experience in working with whiteboarding tools such as Figjam, Mural and Invision
The base location for this role is London/Hybrid.
