Job description

We are looking to recruit a Group Assistant Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will be based at Head Office in Loughton and will be able to drive to and from the other schools in the Group.

The Group Assistant Marketing Manager will be part of the team developing individual and collective brands of Braeside, Oaklands, Coopersale Hall and Normanhurst Schools and creating and implementing a comprehensive Group marketing strategy. The prime responsibility will be to build on and sustain the number of pupils in each school by ensuring that the current successful marketing strategy continues to be implemented and enhanced.

The Group Assistant Marketing Manager will also contribute to the development of each school, assisting the Group Marketing Manager and working with the Marketing and Admissions Teams, Alumni, Parents, Staff and Parents’ Associations.

The position is to start in September 2023 and attracts a salary that ranges from £25,000 to £27,000pa depending on experience and qualifications.

Website and Digital Media:

To support the Group Marketing Manager with the administration of all website and digital media, including:

  • To liaise with the School Offices to gather newsworthy items and other information, then to upload to the websites.
  • To liaise with the School Kitchens for the latest menus, then to upload to the websites. To update the websites and apps daily with news, photographs and other materials.
  • To help keep the school calendars up to date on the website and apps.
  • To help keep social media feeds, such as with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, clips up to date.

Publicity:

To support the Group Marketing Manager with the administration of all publicity, including:

  • To help design and maintain high quality advertisements and editorials through the editing software 'Adobe InDesign’ to be placed in a variety of local publications at strategic points throughout the year.
  • To help develop and maintain high quality display materials, eg posters, flyers and leaflets, to be available for use at specific events or in general throughout the year.
  • To support the promotion of the schools in the media through news articles, photos, etc.
  • To help develop relationships with existing feeder schools and nurseries, and establish relationships with new feeder schools and nurseries through a programme of visits and activities.

Branding:

To support the Group Marketing Manager with the administration of all branding, including:

  • To help develop the brand for each school in accordance with our aims and objectives.
  • To keep an ongoing stocklist for all merchandise and to reorder where necessary.

Open Events:

To support the Group Marketing Manager with the administration of all Open Events, including:

  • To help oversee the organisation of Open Days/Evenings in terms of publicity and advertising.
  • To help set up Open Days/Evenings and to gather and distribute merchandising as applicable.
  • To copy registration forms and provide a details analysis after each Open Day/Evening.

Alumni Relations:

To support the Group Marketing Manager with the administration of all Alumni Relations, including:

  • To help maintain optimum contact with the parents of current pupils.
  • To help sustain and build on established Alumni relationships including a programme of regional meetings and networking events for all Alumni.
  • To help maintain and expand links with former members of staff and parents.

Internal Marketing:

To support the Group Marketing Manager with the administration of all Internal Marketing, including:

  • To gather all newsletters and Head’s letters according to the published timetable, edit, proof and publish on the websites.
  • To help devise Group newsletters at the end of each main term to be distributed across the four schools.
  • To monitor publicity noticeboards in each of the schools and to renew and replace at regular intervals.
  • To help create programmes and tickets for all events and shows, edit, proof and oversee the printing.
  • To take photographs of children around each school and in events for 'library’ use and for websites and adverts.
  • To gather timetables, curriculum overviews, uniform lists and other general documents in order to edit, standardise and publish to the websites at regular intervals.

General Duties:

  • To undertake a variety of general administrative tasks.
  • To answer the telephones in a personable and welcoming manner and handle queries.
  • To deal with incoming correspondence and e-mails.
  • To deal with general enquiries by telephone, email and in person.
  • To record and file information when necessary, always in strict confidence.
  • To maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • To promote equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • To follow Health and Safety procedures.
  • To follow the Schools’ Data Protection Policies.

The Group Marketing Assistant should also be prepared to undertake other such specific duties that may be assigned by the Group Management Team from time to time.
