MATCH DAY/EVENT DAY GROUNDS STAFF
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Groundsperson and Deputy Head Groundsperson
SALARY RANGE: £11.95 per hour (plus holiday pay) per match, with uniform and refreshments provided
TERMS: Casual role with the flexibility to work match and event days. Approx. 6 hours for a football match and other days as required.
THE ROLE
We are looking to recruit Match Day Grounds Staff to join our pool of workers who can be called upon to work at London Stadium on an as and when basis. London Stadium is a multi-purpose venue that is the home of West Ham United Football Club, and is equipped to host concerts, Rugby Union and League, as well as top class athletics and other events.
Working with the Grounds Team, the successful applicants will be required to assist the Head Groundsperson and Deputy Head Groundsperson in the operational and technical success of events taking place at London Stadium, integrated into our match day set up. Previous use of pedestrian machinery and experience in pitch repair works is desirable.
Please note: We are looking for people with previous experience in grounds or greenkeeping at other sites, or people with a horticulture background wanting to expand their skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Specific duties will include:
- Repair works to the field of play in the form of divoting and mowing using pedestrian rotary and cylinder mowers
- Repositioning and cabling of artificial grow lights post game (when required)
- Comply with all Health and Safety regulations and requirements within the Company and your role
- Drive vehicles and handle equipment as required for grounds maintenance operations
- Ensure work area is kept clean, tidy and secure at all times
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues and end users
- Ensure grounds management are kept informed of any issues that may be identified
