Jefferson Professional Tools & Equipment are currently seeking a talented Graphic /Packaging Designer to join the team at their Head Office in Upperlands (between Maghera/Kilrea).
Working alongside the Procurement and Marketing teams, this office-based role involves the creation and management of all Jefferson Tools packaging requirements from order placement to warehouse delivery.
Jefferson Professional Tools & Equipment is part of the McIntyre Group, a family-owned business with a history dating back over 60 years. The brand is distributed throughout the UK and Ireland from our brand new, purpose-built head office and distribution centre based in Upperlands, Northern Ireland. The range includes air tools & compressors, welding equipment, power tools, hand tools, access equipment, heaters and fans, automotive and workshop equipment, lighting, power generation, PPE, storage, lifting and transportation equipment, fluid and grease, abrasives and sundries.
While the role will focus predominantly on the Jefferson Tools brand, from time to time, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to work with the other companies within the group including, E.McIntyre & Sons, MacGen Power Generation and Frenstar.
The Role:
The role involves a range of responsibilities:
Graphic Design
· Working effectively with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop & Indesign).
· Creating packaging for a wide-range of tools and equipment based on an established brand (including coloured cartons, blister packs, labels, etc)
· Working closely with the procurement, marketing and sales teams to develop eye-catching and informative designs for new products
· Creating product mockups for internal teams and suppliers to help confirm packaging, labelling and branding requirements
· Researching competitor products to understand the tools and equipment being ordered, in order to manage the design and content of the packaging materials
· Designing logos and sub-branding for new products
· Maintaining a product directory on the shared network server to ensure all packaging documents are stored and organised efficiently
· Preparing user-friendly instruction guides and compliance documents to accompany the products
Order Management
· Communicating with suppliers to obtain all necessary materials and information required to produce the packaging designs and ensure orders are produced and delivered to a high standard
· Ensuring products are manufactured, tested and marked according to the required quality and safety standards for importation to the EU and UK markets (CE & UKCA compliance)
· Checking and approving supplier print proofs and order completion photographs to confirm packaging is printed correctly and to the required standards prior to shipping
· Supporting the marketing and customer service teams through the production of product-related resources and further information as required
· Adapting and updating existing artwork for products within the range as required for re-orders.
The Person
· Degree in design or an equivalent 5 years of experience in Graphic Design
· Hardworking, motivated and positive attitude
· Exceptional organisational and communication skills is essential
· Willingness to learn
· Keen eye for detail
