Contract: Full-Time or Part Time, permanent posts
We are looking for 1 full time equivalent (FTE) or two 0.5 FTE inspirational lecturers to join our high performing Art & Design team with a particular skills and experience in teaching 16-18 Level 2 and Level 3. You will be working across UAL and BTEC Art & Design Qualifications which develops students’ creative skills and wider skills of communication, organisation, teamwork and progression. Specialist skill sets in textiles/graphic design/media/fine art would be suitable as you will working within teams to teach both expert skills and general creativity. You will be responsible for a tutor group, guiding them over the academic year to achieve high grades and support their progression goals.
You will be a responsible, confident and supportive teacher who has the skills to inspire both students and colleagues. You will have an imaginative approach to teaching that generates wonderfully creative lessons to fully engage your students. Enabling students to gain industry experience and work placements will be an important aspect of this role.
Applicants must be passionate about teaching in the FE sector and be committed to ensuring that our learners make the best possible progress. As such, applicants must also have the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change. Students on Level 2 & Level 3 are required to develop their wider study skills which is an important aspect of their Programme of Study, alongside exploring potential careers within Art & Design through live project briefs, visits, work placements and community based work. Experience of developing these wider skills within art and design will be a significant asset.
The Art & Design team is made up of highly skilled industry trained staff and academically qualified tutors. You will join teams of passionate and dedicated staff who offer innovative and supporting teaching to our cohort, which ranges from level 1 through to level 6.
