We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented hands-on graphic designer to join our busy in-house specialist marketing team.
This position will be well suited to an individual who is enthusiastic and has the motivation and desire to work in a friendly, fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, the ability to manage own workload and a positive approach to work are essential.
Working closely with the whole marketing team and other internal departments, you will ensure that the company image and values are translated into all design work. We are looking for someone who wants to focus on producing high-impact creative designs that will elevate our content, engage our customers and help us stand out from the crowd.
This position will be hybrid working, part to be based at our Millbank office in central London and part working from home. This role will report to Cygnet’s Senior Marketing Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
- Routinely meet with senior members of the team, taking briefs directly and turning their requirements into inspiring and innovative pieces of creative artwork including:
- Print and digital media: illustrations, logos, brochures, flyers, newsletters, infographics, posters and other designs
- Social media: Static and animated assets
- Website: Creating website and internal portal assets
- Any ad-hoc design related activity including basic retouching and image manipulation
- Provide design advice, guidance and support to Junior Graphic Designer
- Proof own work to ensure that accurate and high-quality designs/documents are being produced
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand and be a brand champion at all times
- Design work for other departments within Cygnet – ensuring that the design and tone of voice follow the brand guidelines
- Support the marketing department in implementing the marketing strategy
- Combine commercial awareness with creative execution, keeping the customer at the heart of all creative designs
- Contribute to team brainstorms and idea generation for content, initiatives and campaigns
- Be able to challenge ideas and be challenged
- Present design concepts to the marketing team and other senior internal stakeholders
- Keeping up with industry trends and best practice
- Actively promote and protect the professional image and reputation of the company and be a leading creative brand ambassador
Essential skills & requirements:
- 4-5+ years previous experience of working in a similar role alongside a busy marketing team
- Educated to degree level, preferably in Graphic Design
- Marketing qualifications/experience will be an advantage
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- A very high level of computer literacy
- To be able to prioritise multiple projects and deliver high-quality designs on time, often under tight deadlines
- To mentor and provide design advice to the Junior Graphic Designer
- Accuracy and attention to detail, including excellent proofreading skills
- Exceptional creativity, innovation and motivation to constantly improve and push the boundaries of what’s possible
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Excellent communication skills – being able to present design concepts, approaches and work-in-progress to various internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and to use own initiative when appropriate
- Able to take direction, but also confident to take ownership and run with own ideas
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships with team members at various locations around the UK
- A passion for graphic design with great ideas and a can-do attitude
- You’ll own a portfolio that demonstrates your outstanding design talents and your ability for conceptual thinking
Skills that are desirable, but not essential:
- Experience using video editing software
