The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Full Time High Wycombe, England 27132 - 44991 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

The purpose of this position is to support the Area Presidency, Area Departments and others as assigned in ensuring that all forms of communications (presentations, media files, social media posts, graphic design projects, etc.) are presented professionally and to the highest standards.

Graphic designers come in many forms: web/online, 2D and 3D animation, print, video, multimedia, branding, illustration. Every graphic designer specializes in a different discipline.

For this specific role, the ideal candidate is a talented graphic designer who knows how to proficiently use InDesign (experience with Photoshop is not required but is a plus).

The day-to-day activities revolve around the creation of various materials for digital and print, while protecting the Church’s visual identity and style.

Although in a conventional graphic design role creativity is a must, in this organization the focus is placed on technicality and attention to detail; and the creativity required for your projects varies depending on what task is assigned to you. While some projects might need to be kick-started with some creative thinking (i.e. layout of a poster) some other projects are more basic in nature (i.e. business cards, Power Point presentations).

All projects, however, must be designed within the constraints of the Church’s well-established visual style guide that cannot be modified or adjusted around an individual’s creative input.

  • Creation of posters, manuals, letterheads, and other visual aids via InDesign
  • Creation of PowerPoint presentations
  • Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with a quality product
  • Implement feedback and changes as instructed by manager
  • Work within the constraints of the Church’s visual guide style
  • Occasionally take professional photos of Church leadership or other Church employees

  • Several years of experience with InDesign
  • Experience with Photoshop is a plus
  • Experience with Illustrator is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with operating a camera manually (to take professional photos and portraits of Church leadership if requested)
  • Willing to occasionally work weekends to accommodate Church leadership requests
