COMPANY
Architexture is a design consultancy studio based in Stockport. We are the in-house design hub for the global company Standex Engraving. We specialise in the creation of bespoke textures for every surface and work for the biggest brands across the automotive, packaging, and consumer goods industries. We are looking to expand our team and take on an enthusiastic Graphic designer that will grow and develop with us.
ROLE
This role is a great opportunity for a junior to mid-weight graphic designer wanting to develop as part of an international and ambitious team. As a graphic designer with Architexture, you’ll get the chance to work on various projects from designing textures for global brands to contributing to the design of internal marketing materials. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, creative and proactive individual who can design appealing and meaningful solutions to any design brief.
Texture design is a unique field, and the successful candidate will be provided with training to start their journey in this fascinating industry. Key responsibilities include:
- Take part in design meetings with customers
- Ideate and generate new texture designs according to customer’s design directions and technical requirements
- Operate our texture prototyping machine
- Communicate and present your ideas to the team and to our customers
- Collaborate with our technicians on design and prototyping requirements
- Learn basic manufacturing processes influencing the texture design creation process
- Occasional national and international travel to meet customers, visit Standex facilities or attend exhibitions
Marketing material design. The successful candidate will have the great opportunity to develop a full range of marketing materials for the department. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaboration with our international marketing team to contribute to the design direction of our department
- Ensuring consistency across all our marketing materials
- Create and design various print materials (Flyers, brochures, branded folders, packaging solutions)
- Support the marketing team with the design of graphic elements and artworks for exhibitions and trade shows
- Creation of designs & artwork for our studio showroom
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic design or any design-related field
- Understanding of design principles, colour theory & typography
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a unique creative & innovative approach to graphic design
- Proficiency in the core Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Demonstrated ability to design for print mediums

- Eager to learn about a broad range of topics.
- Enthusiastic, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly collaborative
- Excellent organisational, and time-management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
- Meticulous with a keen eye for details.
- Flexible and enjoy working in a high pace and changing environment.
- Ability to apply design thinking to problem-solving.
