Job description
Sling Pilot Academy in Torrance, CA is in search of a full time social media marketer and video editor to join Sling Pilot Academy. This is an on-site position in Torrance, CA with the potential for hybrid remote. Our Media Team produces, shoots, and edits a 10-20 min length video to post on YouTube Channel every Saturday morning.
Your tasks would include:
- Creating graphics on Photoshop/InDesign for advertisements, social media, merchandise and promotional material, and for our website
- Use SEO tools to find relevant hashtags for our weekly YouTube video posting
- Conduct research on industry trends, target audience preferences, and competitor strategies to inform content creation
- Create reels, shorts, and thumbnails for our weekly video posting
- Stay on top of trends within social and be quick to implement new ideas as they emerge
- Create and manage content calendars for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok
- Proofread and edit social media content for clarity, grammar, and spelling accuracy
- Assist in editing projects on Premiere
- Assist with camera & audio for interviews
Required Skills:

What we do:
We manage a flight school with an accelerated airline pilot training course. We operate about 35 airplanes between Torrance and El Cajon and have hundreds of pilots in training, and flight instructors and maintenance personnel.
Job Type:
- Full-Time only, (some flexibility)
The Job:
- Edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro. For examples of current videos go to https://www.youtube.com/c/SlingPilotAcademy
- Organizing and cataloguing footage
- Downloading and aligning footage and audio
- Reviewing raw footage to decide on what is interesting to our viewers
- Filming using GoPro, Insta 360, DJI and Cannon EOS R6
- Storyboarding, brainstorming and planning videos
- Graphic design using Adobe Photoshop for:
- Video thumbnails
- Print Marketing design including brochures, cards, and trade show banners, displays and signs
- Design and selection of merchandise including shirts, hats, hoodies, stickers etc…
- Design of online display ads and/or print based media
- Management of online and print based advertising campaigns
- Working with current and future online influencers to develop new content, referral programs and marketing campaigns
Education:
- High School or Equivalent
Authority to Work in the US:
- Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States - and no relocation fee will be paid to move to Torrance
