Junior Graphic Designer for Visitor Attractions

Quarry Fold Studio works within the themed entertainment industry. With over 37 year’s experience clients include Liseberg and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, creating immersive themed designs for attractions, restaurants and museums. The studio now seeks a new talented member to join the team to help create graphics, signs and production files, working under the studio’s graphic lead. No two days are the same and you will be working across multiple design styles depending on the theme of the attraction or season.
Who is this for:
- Someone passionate and interested in the themed entertainment industry who is willing to learn and grow as part of a team.
- Someone with a good understanding of graphic design principles and the demands of a commercial creative environment.
- A problem solver who can work competently in Adobe Illustrator to create clean, organised artwork for multiple production purposes, which will include signage, print and production artwork.
- Someone who can take direction in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and manage their own time.
- Someone with a friendly demeanour, who is patient, excited by new tasks and prepared to work outside their comfort zone on varied projects.
- A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to production procedures within the studio.
- Detail orientated and organised. Ability to combine documents into one clearly presented InDesign document or PowerPoint presentation and diligently check details.
The role requires;
- An in depth knowledge of Adobe software primarily Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign, and the ability to problem solve within the software (knowledge of Acrobat, After Effects and Premiere Pro a bonus).
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
- The ability to quickly sketch out ideas to communicate designs and realise these as final digital artwork for print or production.
- Research skills for a multitude of design tasks with the ability to present findings in a clear and concise format.
- An understanding of exterior and interior built environment is preferred.
- A good technical approach to problem solving, the job is production focused and will include reading engineering drawings and producing scaled artwork.
- A knowledge of social media and websites, predominantly Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Part of the job will include posting on these platforms.
Education/Requirements:
- A cover letter outlining your interest in the role and reason for applying.
- A portfolio of design work demonstrating a variety of styles and projects.
- GCSE qualifications in English & Maths.
- A degree in Graphic Design (or equivalent qualification/experience).
Full time or part time dependant on candidate and experience: 24 - 40 hours per week.
