We are seeking a new junior graphic designer to join our team. You will be designing a wide variety of things across digital and offline media. To be successful in this position, you’ll be a self-starter, capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas, and show amazing attention to detail. Skills
- Basic understanding of Adobe InDesign (Necessary)
- Intermediate understanding of Adobe Photoshop
- Basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator
- Experience with Printing designs (in commercial setting, with bleed marks, color settings, resolution, etc)
- Some experience designing for many mediums is a plus- social media, printing, digital, web, advertising
- PowerPoint, Google Slides design experience
- Basic experience in HTML is considered an asset
- Experience with Plotter printers or industrial printing considered an asset
- Design small jobs on weekly/monthly basis (diamond certificates, store certificates, monthly staff specials, etc)
- Help with plotter printer jobs and production
- Assist other designers with various design tasks
- Email Design & Code in HTML
- Photoshoot planning and supervision
- Administrative tasks as needed
- Photography, Videography and Video editing considered an asset
- Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials.
- Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
- Preparing finished art by operating necessary equipment and software.
- Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as photoshop.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
- Experience as a graphic designer or in a related field.
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
Ability to work in the evenings or weekends to support business needs.
