ANIMAL-LOVING GRAPHIC DESIGNER
The description
We’re looking for an empathetic, animal-loving, problem-solver, experienced in graphic design to help us create the future of pet wellbeing.
As a Graphic Designer, you will ensure our products and features are valuable for people, visually appealing, and of the highest level of craft and execution. You will lead the visual design for all company products. We expect you to use your entire range of visual design and interaction design skills.
What the job involves
● Translate objectives and user needs into engaging visual experiences
● Design and create sales materials and assets including brochures, slide decks and one page guides
● Web design work, preparation of website banners and marketing materials, assisting with email campaigns etc.
● Creation of social media assets, images, website assets, digital advertising assets and e-shots
● Event and Exhibition material preparation - design and develop exhibition panel artwork and event support materials
● Support with the production of high-quality materials to support bids and pitches
● Creating new designs without breaching copyright laws
● Play an active role in developing the brand by working closely with Marketing to ensure products are aligned with brand message and vision
● Facilitate concept explorations to drive bold and innovative thinking
● Interpret and distil complex strategies and requirements, and visually depict the ideal user experience
● Develop iconography, typography, colour palette, and style guidelines
● Have a deep understanding of and champion the importance of design systems and interaction patterns across the business to ensure brand, visual and interactive cohesion across products, platforms, and scenarios
● Challenge the status quo and help bring about internal change in the way we do things
Desired skills and experience
● 3+ years of proven experience of excellent Visual Design
● Deep knowledge of accepted design patterns with an awareness of the latest platform specific guidelines
● Experience in E-commerce digital design, ranging from website banners, website blocks, through to print design of brochures, flyers, catalogues etc.
● Visual Design skills with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, colour, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function
● Experience working to and creating design guidelines/style guides
● Proficiency in high-fidelity prototyping tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, grid systems in responsive design)
● An appreciation of front-end web technologies and mark up HTML, CSS, jQuery, XML
● Experience working with Microsoft Office, Mac O.S, Branding, working with live creative briefs on a tight deadline
● A realistic approach to deadlines, time-lines and schedules
● Excellent Image editing Skills, understanding of PMS (Pantone Matching System)
● Ability to translate a brief into something wonderful
● Advanced selection, airbrushing and cloning techniques
● Confidence in applying new packaging designs to supplier’s cutter guides, sticking to detailed and strict brand guidelines when required.
● Systems-thinker with the ability to think beyond the pixels and design for offline experiences and the confidence in articulating design decisions
● Ability to effectively articulating design decisions, strong communication and stakeholder management skills
● Ability to use stock photos, textures and drawings and transform them into a brand-new product visualisation (and add shadows and highlights) while avoiding copying existing designs
● Able to seamlessly create photomontages to create lifestyle images
● Strong recolouring and matching skills using Photoshop adjustment layers
● Experience sourcing relevant stock resources with an understanding of licensing, working to Web and accessibility standards
● A portfolio featuring examples of Graphic Design work and understanding the considerations for web and accessibility
● Strong eye for technical details
● The ability to understand technical implications in their design decisions, designing for e-commerce and testing with users

Role details
● Employment Type: Full-time
● Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per year
● Work days: Monday to Friday (40 hrs)
● Schedule: 8-hour work Day, 8.30am to 5pm
● Work Location: Office-based (Rotherham ,S63 9BL, UK)
