The position requires an enthusiastic person, ideally with a Bachelor’s degree/HND in graphic design or related field; with a proactive approach who has experience in a similar role and is comfortable and confident working within a team, but who can also manage their workload independently.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for graphic projects from initial briefs to final production;
To develop and deliver innovative designs across a wide range of media, including animal exhibits, signage, event material, printed visitor literature and learning materials;
To promote DZC’s conservation and education messages through design in keeping with the DZC brand;
Generate graphics and literature that maximise the effectiveness of onsite communication to all visitors;
Be an integral part of the Marketing team and provide expertise and where necessary, tuition for other team members.
This is a part time position of 4 days per week to include Bank Holidays.
The successful candidate must be conversant in the use of software including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Will be highly motivated, flexible and committed, with a knowledge of the conservation and educational roles within zoos, and excellent communication skills.
A current driving licence will be an added advantage. Salary commensurate on experience.
