Job description

BAFTA is seeking a new Junior Graphic Designer to join their busy PR & Comms team

Job purpose

BAFTA’s Junior Graphic Designer role sits within the Communications team and reports to the Graphic Designer. It supports BAFTA’s marketing and communications in the delivery of design tasks across print and digital, from awards and event brochures to web and social media assets. It assists in the creation of brand toolkits and guidelines, key artwork for the awards and initiatives, and advertising and promotional materials for BAFTA’s public, membership, stakeholder and internal audiences.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Assisting the design, art-working and coordination of BAFTA’s print and digital materials, from official awards programmes and fundraising brochures to social media templates, graphics, digital adverts and internal presentations.
Liaising with departments on approvals and delivery of projects
Processing graphic design requests from across the organisation and coordinating and administering projects from request to delivery.
Checking and correcting proofs
Circulating proofs for approvals
Assisting with finalising print-ready artwork
Obtain print quotes where required
Ensuring design and production deadlines are met
Fulfilling internal and external brand requests for approvals, including the supply of logos for awards winners and official partners.
Ensuring consistency of BAFTA brand across all comms channels
Creating PowerPoint presentations and decks for the Executive Director as required, including for internal communications.

Ideally you will have:

A degree or equivalent in-house or agency experience in a similar design role
Professional experience
A portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design stills and knowledge of colour, layout and typography
Proficiency in Adobe’s Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator and experience of Microsoft’s PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Illustration skills
A passion for film, TV and games
