Job description
Drawing attention to public health issues – designer wanted!
We’re always looking at better, more modern and smarter ways of communicating with our residents and that includes through excellent and creative graphic design.
We don’t do fluffy PR we do important, real time communications and marketing that have an impact on our residents’ and community’s day-to-day life.
We’re looking to enhance our communications around public health and one of the key ways in doing that will be through visually impressive graphics. Could you be the person who helps take these important communications to the next level?
You’re going to have a big impact on what we do, so you’ll be trusted to take ownership of your work. To deliver better today. And to create a better tomorrow.
Because we’re Bracknell Forest
What it’s like working in our team…
We’re a small, friendly, hard-working and dedicated team of communications, marketing and media officers and a graphic designer. We work with hundreds of staff across the council as well as other groups and councillors daily. We often have to think on our feet within short deadlines; no day is ever the same!
You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…
- To design graphics for the council’s digital channels, in line with corporate branding. This includes (but is not limited to) GIFs, animations, static social media, e-newsletter templates and artwork.
- To design graphics for offline, traditional and out of home channels in line with corporate brand guidelines. This includes (but is not limited to) printed publications, leaflets, banners, adverts and posters.
- To manage and present design ideas and concepts to clients at all levels, including senior officers.
- To deliver design solutions that communicate the council’s key messages, specifically around public health campaigns.
- Where appropriate, ensure all designed material adheres to RNIB, DDA and equal opportunity guidelines and make recommendations for improving accessibility through design.
The benefits you will experience are…
- Regular opportunities for development with internal and external training courses.
- An inclusive and social working environment.
- Flexible working opportunities including a flexi-time scheme.
- A great office location next to travel links and the regenerated town centre.
- Internal sports and social club opportunities.
- Discounted leisure centre and gym membership.
- An interest free loan for a rail season ticket.
What we’re looking for…
We’re looking for a team player with excellent graphic design skills and creative flair. Someone who understands the digital landscape but who also know how important good quality traditional design is.
Someone who isn’t afraid to get stuck in to making difficult subjects look exciting and easy to understand. Someone who captivates the audience but understands not all audiences are the same.
Someone who enjoys a challenge, is comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Interview date
Interviews will be held on 17 March, 2023
